As per Illinois Statute, 55 ILCS 5/3-5018. Fees and instruments not in compliance with the standardization of forms legislation will be subject to double the regular recording fees minus $23.00 for real estate related documents and $13.00 for non-real estate related documents. The statute also provides for a charge of $3.00 to be added to every instrument filed for record to defray the cost of the Recorder's document storage system, an additional $10.00 to defray the cost of implementing or maintaining the county's Geographic Information System, and the recently passed State Senate Bill 75, Rental Housing Support Program Surcharge (RHSPS) of $10.00.
